A FORMER East Lancashire woman who now lives in Mexico is trying to get in touch with a long-lost friend from Darwen.
Geraldine Leighton de Robredo, who now lives in Puebla, Mexico, wants to hear from Valerie Morris.
Geraldine said Valerie was born in the Darwen area about 1942 and Valerie's family were from the Darwen area and she was an only child.
She said Valerie was a pupil at Darwen Grammar School and in the late 1950's they worked together at the District Bank, which is now NatWest in Bolton.
She said: "By this time, her parents ran the White Horse pub in Edgworth, a very popular place in those days and Valerie helped them there in the evenings.
"After I married in 1960 and came to live in Mexico, we slowly lost touch.
"I heard via the 'grapevine' that she married sometime between 1965 and 1970 and that she was living either in Darwen or in Westhoughton.
"I would be so grateful if I could get in contact with Valerie as I haven't been able to locate her for years."
If you can help Geraldine, contact her via e-mail on gyprobredo@hotmail.com or ring the Lancashire Evening Telegraph newsdesk on 01254 678678.
