ON Sunday, April 4 I was walking my dog George along the canal when she collapsed and couldn't walk.
Two men walking towards Barden Lane, Burnley came to my assistance. I didn't have a mobile phone to telephone my husband and so they said they would go to my house and get him.
On the way they met a man with a red boxer and a phone who allowed me to use it to phone my husband.
He then carried my dog, a large rotweiller boxer cross weighing about eight stones towards Robinson Lane where my husband arrived with the car.
I can't thank these men enough for helping a damsel in distress and her dog.
Unfortunately George would not have been able to walk again and sadly had to be put to rest.
