YOUNGSTERS in Burnley have been putting their artistic talents to good use.
Burnley Council community environment officers Jan Hardy, Helen Williams and Asif Iqbal recently launched a poster competition, the aim being to stop people dropping litter and to promote recycling.
Council environmental service manager Sarah Schofield, recycling officer Sarah Catterall and the executive member for public protection and community safety, Coun Linda Gauton, chose the winners.
The first prize, a camera, went to Aislinn O'Connor, from St John's Junior School, second prize to Abigail Bowden, from St Mary's Primary School, and third prize to Leah Lister, from Heasandford Primary School.
