AN EAST Lancashire landlord has got the art of catering off to a 'tee'.
Golfer Nick Whittaker, licensee at the Griffin's Head, in Huncoat, is determined to 'putt' his pub on the map.
The former recruitment worker has been a regular at the popular pub for 20 years, the last three in charge. And although it has maintained its reputation of a "good drinking pub" he is currently celebrating after picking up the area prize in Daniel Thwaites' Supreme Kitchen and Caterer of the Year Award.
Nick, 37, said: "It is a beer-led pub but we are delighted to receive recognition. Full credit must go to our small team of part-time kitchen staff who consistently maintain the best of standards."
It is another honour for the Griffins Head, whose football team won the local league. He added: "Everything's going well round here, we've even got 40 people in our golf society!"
