EAST Lancashire schools must concentrate on creating an inclusive community if ethnic minority pupils are to get on, a report has revealed.
The Office for Standards in Education has produced two reports on Managing the Ethnic Minority Achievement Grant.
The grant for supporting schools and the Local Education Authorities to meet the needs of minority ethnic pupils was introduced to provide teaching support in languages and support staff.
Inspectors found that schools using the funding most effectively had strong emphasis on cultural diversity, equal opportunities and strong links with the community.
