THE Ribble Valley talking newspaper took off in a big way. Over £5,000 was collected from donations, patrons' subscriptions and the sale of cassette recorders.
The project to provide a weekly news service to the blind and partially sighted of the valley was an outstanding success and scores of volunteers for reading, editing and delivering came forward.
