BRIAN Jensen wants Burnley to treat the damaging defeat to Watford as a timely wake-up call.

The Clarets were plunged back towards the danger zone following Monday's 3-2 reversal at the hands of the relegation-haunted Hornets.

But Jensen reckons that defeat should send alarm bells ringing around the Turf Moor dressing room and banish any thoughts of an easy ride in the ongoing battle for First Division survival

The Danish goalkeeper said: "Monday was another of those days and that will hopefully be the wake-up call we need.

"We were all feeling good about ourselves after beating Walsall at the weekend, but now it's clear again that we still need a couple of wins."

Striker Ian Moore agrees with Jensen's assessment that complacency might have set in after Saturday's win at Walsall.

He said: "We knew how important it was to win the Watford game, but maybe it crept into people's heads that it's already a foregone conclusion we will survive.

"Well it's not because everyone down there is battling away and it's worth a lot of money to clubs.

"The gaffer asked us after the game whether it was a 48-hour reaction to Saturday, but it's the same for both sides and Watford came here and looked a lot more

powerful than us at times. That's something we can't allow to happen again."

Easter has done little to resolve the relegation issues, other than virtually confirm that Bradford will join already doomed Wimbledon in Division Two.

Bryan Robson's men can only achieve 48 points with wins in all four of their remaining matches.

And with only Derby, Gillingham and the Clarets currently having less than that total, City's battle appears lost.

However, the eight remaining teams vying to steer clear of the third relegation place all remain rooted in trouble following the weekend's double-headers.

And Jensen admitted dressing room conversations at Turf Moor were now dominated by who will topple.

He said :"Everyone is looking at the fixtures and you can't help that because we don't want to get relegated. We refuse to - it's as simple as that.

"So many great teams in the past have been relegated and we know we are good enough to survive.

"But we need to show more fight. It will be a scrap, but I believe 110 per cent that we can get the six points we need.

"Monday was just a bad day at the office for everybody and we looked tired. "Watford won every first and second ball and so many times this season we have gone ahead and then drawn or lost the game.

"We have a little problem with that, to be fair. But we will bounce back, no problem."

Burnley were today set to formally announce Hunters Estate Agents as shirt sponsors for the next two years.

An afternoon press conference will confirm the six-figure deal, which is the biggest ever sponsorship deal in the club's history.
