RE your story (LET, April 10) about prostitutes in Blackburn.

Surely it's time for girls to be moved off the streets of every town and city in the British Isles. Goodness knows the situation has been here long enough.

One understands the feelings of shopkeepers and others and the frustration they all feel.

However, it may well be that until there is a move to legalise prostitution from government level it won't change.

They should set up proper houses for the girls -- medical checks etc., and get them off the streets. Their safety would then also be assured.

A KAY (Mr), Mill Hill Bridge Street, Blackburn.
