TWO keen musicians are seeking songwriters and unplugged players to kickstart a change in local entertainment.
Lowton guitarist John Ridyard and Gordon Shaw, who together make up the duo "The Big Ask" are planning to provide a platform for players at a monthly acoustic evening at Lowton Labour Club.
They are appealing to live musicians to sign up for a session.
Biomedical scientist John, who also plays harmonica, said the duo had performed at a few venues and discovered that other musicians were itching to play live and unplugged.
He said: "We are trying to push this because a lot of people want to play their own instruments and sing as a change from karaoke. The evenings are open to everyone -- including folk, country or acoustic rock artists."
The first session gets underway on May 6 at 8.30pm and others will follow on the first Thursday of every month.
There will be a £1.50 admission charge with a 50p discount for players. For further details ring John on 01942 261706.
