CONFUSION over household waste collections left some Hyndburn streets full of bins over Easter.
Collections are running a day late because of the Bank Holiday but some residents did not received updated timetables telling them when fortnightly collections were due.
The mix-up follows similar confusion at Christmas when collections were up to 10 days late.
But Dave Allonby, environmental maintenance manager for Hyndburn Council, said the borough had tried its best to let people know of late collection.
He said: "We have three methods of communication to let people know if refuse collection will be late, these are the local press, the council website and leaflets.
"I cannot comment on whether everybody has had leaflets or not but we always try to get the message across to residents regarding refuse collection services."
