BLACKBURN striker Jonathan Stead has called for one last push as Rovers attempt to take another giant step towards safety against Leicester City on Saturday.
The England Under 21 international breathed new life into Rovers' survival bid by scoring a priceless winner against Fulham on Monday night.
But the 21-year-old forward insists Rovers must now consign that 4-3 victory to history as they gear up for a crucial six-pointer against Micky Adams's struggling Foxes.
"We've got to put Monday's victory behind us now because it counts for nothing and concentrate on winning again on Saturday because the sooner we get the points we need to survive, the better," said Stead.
"There's been quite a lot of pressure in the last two or three weeks because things haven't been going well for us but that's when you've really got to get your chin up and not let your head go down.
"You've really got to work hard at the way you're playing and with the people who are around you."
Stead and his team-mates went into Monday night's game at Loftus Road knowing a fourth consecutive defeat would have increased the pressure on them and their manager, Graeme Souness.
However, a stirring second half fight-back led to the team picking up a massive three points.
It was the first time in 12 months that Rovers had come from behind to win a game and the manner of their fight-back dispelled any rumours about problems with team spirit.
"Everything gets blown out of proportion. There's a great atmosphere at the club and I haven't seen anything else like it," said Stead.
"The lads want to do well for the supporters, for the club, and for everybody as you could see by our second half performance.
"It's always the same when a team is underachieving. The gaffer usually gets the stick but at the end of the day it's the players who cross the white line and it's us who don't perform.
"So I'm delighted for the boss and all the fans that we managed."
Meanwhile, Rovers defender Michael Gray appears to have lost his battle to be fit to face Leicester on Saturday.
Gray missed the win at Fulham with an abductor strain and it's unlikely he'll recover in time for the weekend.
Elsewhere, Rovers striker Andy Cole has been linked with a summer move to America.
Cole is reported to be a target for the New York-New Jersey Metrostars but they could face competition for his signature from Major League Soccer rivals DC United.
