A TEAM of caring youngsters from a Radcliffe primary school has raised £100 for guide dogs.

A group of ten pupils from Cams Lane's Muddy Paws club raised the money through a 'guess the toy dog' competition after taking part in workshops about guide dogs.

Christine Kennion , reception class teacher at the school, said: "The group has also had a visit from a blind lady and her guide dog. She explained what it was like to be blind and the RSPCA has also been to the school to help them learn about caring for animals and plants."

To raise the cash, children from the school paid 20p each to name the dog. The name Katie was finally chosen, and the £100 will now go towards the charity.

The school has raised money for Guide Dogs for the Blind in the past, and next year, the school hopes to adopt the charity and fundraise for it throughout the year.
