TWO young Blackburn business brains are gearing up to find out if they are the winners of the North West 2004 Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur Award.

Samantha, 25, and Andy Bradshaw, 24, who set up the design agency Oneighty Creative Ltd in September 2002, won the East Lancashire area final on March 30, at the Holden Vale Conference Centre, Helmshore, defeating six other competitors.

The pair are now awaiting the regional final in Manchester to see if they will clinch the title of North West Region Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

This year's awards are supported by Shell UK and the North West Development Agency.

Each business will be assessed by a panel of judges, who will present the awards on the basis of the viability and potential of the business and the entrepreneurial qualities and business acumen of the owners.

Prizes of £750 and £500 will be awarded to two businesses showing outstanding achievement in one of the following areas: sustainable development; innovation and new technology; environmental awareness; employment potential; export success; manufacturing; moat enterprising; best retail and best business plan.
