MEDIA students from Bedford High School in Leigh and St Edmund Arrowsmith in Ashton-in-Makerfield have been taking part in the borough's second annual Young People's Film Festival.
When a dozen students showcased a variety of short films, from pop videos to mini-dramas before a panel of judges at the Park Centre in Hindley, Bedford made it a clean-sweep with Kirsty Heyes winning the 'Best Photography' category, Danielle Murphy 'Best Script' and Gemma Wood overall 'Best Film'.
Tom Ward, too young to study NVQ, was given special recognition for a superb animation.
Pauline Hilton, media advisory teacher, said: "The standard was very high, making it very difficult to choose the winners.
"In the end, it was Gemma's all-round invention, imagination and technical ability that won the day, but it was a close run thing and everybody can feel proud of their efforts."
