THE hilarious, costume comedy, The Noble Spaniard, is the next production of The Charity Players, at the Charter Theatre, Preston, on Tuesday, April 20-23, at 7.30pm.
The play will be the amateur group's 21st production, with money raised going toward St Catherine's Hospice, Lostock Hall.
Since forming in 1990 the amateur performers have raised more than £50,000 for the hospice.
Their latest production, set in 18th century France sees The Proudfoot family spending the summer with guests Captain Chalfont, the lovely Marion and young Lucy in the company of the Count and Countess de Moret.
A mystery Spanish nobleman falls for Marion and the resulting misunderstandings and mistaken identities lead to total confusion until the truth is revealed.
This comedy has all the ingredients of a classic farce but with the style and grace of a bygone age and guaranteed to raise a smile.
Tickets are £5 (Tuesday) and £6.50 (Wednesday-Friday) on 01772 258858. All proceeds go to St Catherine's.
