MAKING the final cut in a national beauty competition earned Bury Church High School student Jade Dixon a place on the catwalk.
The 16-year-old saw the contest advertised in teen magazine 19, and was one of hundreds of girls to enter.
After sending in photos she was selected for the semi-final, and enjoyed a trip to London for a professional make-up, hair styling, fashion and camera session.
And Jade, from Heywood, was one of only five girls then selected for the Philips Beauty Face of Angel final.
She appeared on a London catwalk before a panel of judges and celebrities, including TV presenter Lisa Snowdon, and finished as a runner-up.
Jade, who studies drama and singing in her spare time, hopes to become a model or actress and has already had interest from top London fashion agency Isis.
Jade said: "It was a bit scary because this was something so new that I had never done before, but I got used to it.
"I'm just really glad to have got so far and hope that I can do more things like it."
