A MOTORBIKE stolen from Radcliffe was used in an armed raid in Oldham.

The Yamaha machine was later destroyed by fire after the robbery at Greenfield Post Office on Tuesday morning.

Detectives in Saddleworth are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the red coloured bike, registered N443 MPL, being stolen from Ainsworth Road.

Two offenders arrived on the bike at 11am and entered the post office, armed with a sawn off shotgun and a crowbar. They threatened the staff and stole a substantial amount of cash.

One of the men was described as wearing a black helmet, a light grey sports jacket and black tracksuit pants. The other had a multi coloured helmet, with black, red and white camouflage, and a waist length jacket and dark trousers.

The motorbike was later seen in the car park of the Butchers Arms pub in Mossley at 8pm and at around midnight it was set alight and destroyed.
