EIGHT people were injured, two of them seriously, following a two-car crash in Whitefield.
Kirsty Atherton (20) and her sister Kelly (23), both from Westhoughton, had to be cut free from a Fiat Punto after it had been in collision with a Peugeot 306 in Stanley Road at 7.20pm on Saturday (April 10).
They were taken to North Manchester General Hospital with suspected back injuries.
Two other passengers in the Fiat and four people in the Peugeot, including the driver, were taken to Fairfield General Hospital with minor injuries.
Firefighters spent nearly an hour as they worked to free the trapped victims from the wreckage and Stanley Road was closed to traffic by police while the accident scene was cleared.
