SPLASHES of sunny yellow are brightening up parts of Prestwich and Whitefield, thanks to local rotarians.
The Rotary Club of Prestwich and Whitefield has planted a host of golden daffodils at the side of main roads to add a touch of springtime to the area for passing motorists and pedestrians.
The daffodil is the emblem for Marie Curie cancer care, a charity which the club supports each year.
Clusters of the cheerful bloom have been planted at Whitefield Ambulance Station, near the cenotaph in Higher Lane, at the Junction 17 motorway roundabout, in Prestwich, on the banks of Bury New Road outside the Church of the Latter Day Saints, Whitefield, and outside Besses o'th Barn Metrolink Station.
Julian Roscoe, Rotary community services chairman, said: "We have a team of volunteers who plant the daffodils in November. Blooming in spring; they look lovely."
