AN internationally-renowned East Lancashire engineering firm has undergone a change of hands.
Darwen-based Brookhouse Engineering, which employs 470 people and supplies components to the aerospace industry, has been bought from owners Peter and Barry Turner.
The new owners include existing and new management after the deal which is believed to be worth millions.
Brookhouse has bases in India Mill, Darwen, Cheshire and Cambridgeshire. It sells to customers world wide, with a major client being BAE Systems.
It is one of the largest independent composites engineering and assembly organisations in the UK.
The firm was founded in Blackburn by Peter and Barry Turner's father Fred.
Its engineers have particular experience in the aerospace sector, in the design and manufacture of production tooling and in the manufacture and repair of aerospace components.
