I FELT that Mr Kaiserman's recent letter was particularly unhelpful in today's climate of deteriorating race relations.

With public confidence in the immigration system at an all-time low, and tabloid newspapers whipping-up fears of our country being swamped by east europeans, there has never been a greater need for a full and frank debate on this issue.

All Mr Kaiserman offers us is to misinform vulnerable groups in our community about BNP policies and beliefs in order to create fear and antagonism instead of understanding and co-operation.

It is to the credit of the BNP that they are prepared to put themselves in the firing line of the "politically correct" to carry the debate on immigration forward and to help develop the policies needed to create a prosperous and stable society for all.
