ONE person was being questioned by police after the death of a baby boy in Sabden.
The 19-month-old child, believed to be from Clitheroe, died in the early hours of today.
The baby was taken to Burnley General Hospital and police were called to the house, in Eightacre Avenue, at around 2.50am.
One person was in police custody, and helping with inquiries, Inspector Andrea Bradbury said.
Today a police car was outside the address, the end house in a quiet cul-de-sac. The front blinds of the property were drawn.
Ambulance crews today confirmed they had attended an address in the centre of Sabden, but could not give out any more information. Inspector Simon Atkinson, Lancashire Constabulary Force Incident Manager, confirmed the police were investigating , but could not release the identity of the youngster, or the circumstances of the death.
Eastern Division's Duty Inspector, Inspector Andy Hill, was today speaking to relatives.
It is thought that the boy's mother had not yet been informed.
One neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: "I don't know who lives there, but I don't think they've been there long."
The ambulance service confirmed they were called to an address in Sabden, and took a patient to Burnley General.
