WILL Andy Cole retain his crown for another season or is Brad Friedel about to usurp him from his throne?

The race is now on to find the winner of this year's Peter White Memorial Trophy for the best goal of Blackburn Rovers' season.

And it's down to you, the fans, to decide which one of the eight crackers on our short-list should get your vote.

Cole is the current holder of the trophy after fans voted his dipping 25-yards volley against Liverpool at Anfield as the best goal of last season.

And the former England striker is in the running again to scoop the coveted trophy for a second successive year thanks to his blistering first half strike against Fulham on Monday night.

As usual, the judging panel have come up with eight stunning goals for you to choose from and this year's selection could be the hardest to sift through yet.

Each goal is special on its own merits, whether it's for the skill of the execution or the sheer drama of its timing.

And if you're top three matches that of Rovers boss, Graeme Souness, then you could win a Rovers shirt signed by the winning goalscorer and Souness himself.

All eight goals will be shown on the big screen at Ewood today before Rovers' match with Leicester.

The full list will also appear in today's edition of Rovertime, the club's official matchday magazine.

There are three easy ways to register your vote.

You can send your selection into the sports desk at the Telegraph on an envelope clearly marked 'Goal of the season'.

Our address is: The sports desk, The Lancashire Evening Telegraph, Newspaper House, High Street, Blackburn, BB1 1HT.

Alternatively, you can fill in the coupon in today's edition of Rovertime and send it to the appropriate address.

Or if you prefer, you can log onto Rovers' official website and register your vote there.

Remember, anyone who matches Graeme Souness's top three will go into a special draw for the signed shirt and the lucky winner will be presented with his/her prize at a later date.
