A WOMAN led into drugs and crime by others could be facing jail after flouting a chance given by a court.
Burnley magistrates heard Rebecca Diane Morton, 29, had earlier been given a deferred sentence but had offended.
Morton, said by her solicitor to be well educated and to come from a good family, is on deferred sentence from the town's Crown Court after admitting burglary and handling.
The court was told she attacked a Tesco store detective and kicked out at Kwiksave employees as they tried to detain her.
The defendant, of Raybeck House, Sawley, admitted theft and assault by beating. She was bailed for a pre-sentence report and told all options were open.
Phillip Potter, prosecuting, told the court Morton and an accomplice pushed a trolley loaded with goods worth £261 through a checkout at Burnley Tesco.
The defendant was told she was being detained, became violent and kicked an employee on the shin. She then tried to bite another staff member's hand.
Morton was escorted back to the shop. She took off her shoe and hit the detective on the back of her head with it.
Morton was given a deferred sentence but offended again, taking bacon from Spar in Manchester Road, Burnley.
The defendant, a showroom assistant at Gregorys Furniture, Helmshore, had previous convictions for excess alcohol, drugs, handling stolen goods and theft.
