A 30-YEAR-OLD Darwen man told police he dealt in drugs to fund his own habit and to feed his children, a court was told.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Stephen Paul Wallwork was stopped by plain clothes officers on February 16 and they discovered 50 grams of cannabis.
He was stopped again in March and officers discovered a total of 180 grams in his car and at his home.
Wallwork, 30, of Lily Street, admitted two charges of possession with intent to supply.
The case was adjourned until May 6 for pre-sentence reports, with a warning that all options, including custody, would be open to the magistrates' bench.
Charlotte Crane, prosecuting, said the first time he was stopped, Wallwork produced 11 foil wraps and told the police it was "only cannabis."
He said he was dealing to raise money for his own habit and to feed his children. When he was stopped a month later he had 180 grams of the drug and he told police: "You know I'm dealing but I can't stop."
John Dewhurst, defending, said although cannabis was now only a Class C drug he was sure the magistrates would be concerned that Wallwork had been involved in supplying the drug.
