BLACKBURN Hawks resume their play-off campaign with a tough trip to the Nottingham Arena, home of the Lions tonight (6pm).

A month ago, the Hawks began the play-offs with a superb 4-2 victory, their first over the Lions this season, on home territory.

Player-coach Bobby Haig hit a brace and single strikes from David Sheffield and Adam Leaver took the Hawks to the top of the Northern group. But, in truth, it was an impressive all-round team effort which saw the Hawks quell the Lions' roar.

Haig will be hoping for more of the same in the Lions' den this weekend if the Hawks are to keep their hopes of a place in the final alive.

"It will be tough, they are no mugs and they proved that by beating Flintshire 6-4 last weekend," said Haig. "But we've got a full squad and we have to go there and prove that we can do the business."

The Hawks are currently joint top of the ENHL North play-offs table with Sheffield Scimitars. Both have five points, but the Yorkshire side have a game in hand. The Scimitars face Flintshire Freeze at home tonighty, before hosting a decisive showdown with the Hawks a week later.

Hawks spent the Easter weekend north of the border competing in the Fife Tournament at Kirkcaldy.

"It was a great break, away from the hustle and bustle of the play-offs," said Haig.

"We only took nine players in the end, but we finished fourth and the boys

enjoyed it."
