IN response to Brian Watson about the plight of pensioners (LET, April 13) I would like him to know I am in full agreement with his views and comments.
I myself wrote to Jack Straw on this matter as the MP for Blackburn.
I had a reply on March 30 stating my letter had been forwarded to Mr Malcolm Wicks MP Minister of State, Department of Work and Pensions.
This is a case on the Chancellor's part (Gordon Brown) of causing age discrimination which is morally and totally wrong.
When we become pensioners we should be treated all the same regardless of age.
Stop the age discrimination now and give all pensioners equality.
MAUREEN LOCKLEY, Peel Close, Blackburn.
