LANCASHIRE Ambulance Service is calling on people in Padiham and Hapton to become emergency first aiders.
The service is launching a team of voluntary First Responders, who will be trained to deal with medical emergencies in their area.
Residents interested in getting involved are invited to an open evening at Padiham Green County Primary School on Thursday, at 7.30pm.
The only requirements are that you have to be aged 18 years or over, have a clean driving licence and live in Padiham or Hapton. No previous first aid experience is necessary.
Nick Sutcliffe, from the ambulance service, said they were hoping to recruit up to 20 people.
Recruits will be sent on a two day course where they will be taught basic life support skills.
