THE county's doctors were to press for the proposed maternity unit at Queen's Park Hospital, Blackburn, to be made bigger.
This followed a meeting of the local medical committee which represented all the general practitioners in Lancashire when Dr Asmed Zaman, of Darwen, voiced his concern that the 100-bed unit would not be big enough.
