RESIDENTS in Rawtenstall braved the rain yesterday to help clean up their neighbourhood.
Organised by Cribden Neighbourhood Association, the litter pick was targeted around the Hobson Street area.
Frances Mahon from the residents' group said it had been very successful, despite a slow start because of the bad weather. She said: "We had about 20, including 10 children. The streets looked so much better after we had finished. It isn't a bad area for rubbish, but I was amazed at the number of bags we filled."
Members of Cribden Neighbourhood Association will be helping at a clean-up in the Daisy Hill area of Rawtenstall on Thursday.
