A HANDCUFFED prisoner shouted "have this from me" as he lunged at a police officer and butted him in the face, a court was told.
Magistrates heard that as a second officer tried to restrain Joseph Mark Drury he was kicked in the groin.
Drury, 25, of Oban Drive, Shadsworth, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to two charges of police assault. He was made subject to a community rehabilitation order for 12 months, ordered to do 50 hours community punishment and pay £75 and £50 compensation to the two officers and £150 costs.
Phillipa White, prosecuting, told Blackburn magistrates that the officers were called to a nightclub in Market Street Lane where they arrested Drury. As the officers were getting Drury out of the van he launched his attack. Louise Voce, defending, said Drury had originally been arrested for other offences which were not accepted, and were not proceeded with.
