nA SELF-confessed tight-fisted colleague balked when charged 94p for a potato and meat pie at a Leigh confectioners.
He had a good whinge after paying up, but was gobsmacked when he returned a couple of days later and found they'd gone up to 96p. Nearly a quid for a pie!
As a bit of a careful budgeter myself, I couldn't believe I actually handed over 80p for a diddy trifle at the same shop. I could have concocted a home-made bucketful for that price.
The pie eaters of Leigh are not happy. What do you think?
