A MAN has been charged with motoring offences after a 71-year-old Bury woman was seriously injured.
The pedestrian was struck by a Ford Fiesta van which was travelling along Manchester Road, Bury, on Friday at 12.30pm.
The pensioner suffered a suspected cracked pelvis and bruising. She is currently receiving treatment in Fairfield Hospital in Bury.
Steven Higgins, aged 26, from Westgate Drive, has been charged with failing to stop and failing to report a road traffic accident.
He has been bailed to appear at Bury magistrates on Wednesday.
