RESIDENTS alleged to have broken a council's rubbish regulations are due to appear before magistrates this week.
A total of seven people are facing prosecution by Blackburn with Darwen Council as part of its million pound drive to clean up the town.
The cases are due to be heard in Blackburn on Thursday, six weeks after a group of residents from the Jonston Street area were given hefty fines for not putting rubbish in wheelie bins.
The council has committed more than £1million to its Thrash the Trash campaign after consulting with residents.
In the past, 10 prosecutions have also taken place against businesses and fly-tippers.
A council spokesman added that another 70 to 80 cases for various offences were pending.
