I WAS most surprised to read (LET, April 13) that complaints had been made by some residents in the Ribble Valley re delivery of black bin liners and green garden waste bags.
Nothing in life is perfect, but some people will always find something to complain about.
Having lived in the Wilpshire area -- for nearly 35 years -- I can only compliment the refuse collectors on the way they do their job, carrying out their difficult work efficiently and cheerfully, and in all weathers.
Neither do they complain about the amount householders leave out to be collected. The recent additional collection of garden waste is something RVBC need to be congratulated on. This has meant extra work for the same teams.
The logistics of delivering tens of thousands of bundles of green garden waste bags would have been a nightmare for anyone, apart from the actual labour cost.
When you compare our collection service to that of neighbouring authorities, I feel we are extremely fortunate. Perhaps a few more bouquets rather than brickbats might be in order.
