A NEW graffiti-busting technique was used to remove swastikas and other offensive material from a cemetery in Nelson yesterday.
Blackburn-based DNS Distribution Ltd demonstrated the Doris blasting system for officers from Pendle Council by removing 30 square metres of graffiti from Walton Lane Cemetery.
The graffiti had built up over about three months but is now being removed by the high-powered jet spray. Parks officer Fred Stewart said: "The graffiti had got a lot worse over the past few weeks with the schools being off so we were glad to get rid of it. Now we just have to hope it stays clear."
