A BLACKBURN-based firm developed a revolutionary carpet processing machine - believed to be the first to use silicon chip technology.
Darwen Equipment Makers Ltd, of Gate Street, had already exported their first £200,000 machine to Canada.
Also, £145 was presented to the Mayor of Blackburn, Coun Frank Hulme, for his Call to Arms charity after a concert at Cob Wall Working Men's Club.
