LANCASHIRE showed their intent for the season in the first day or two of their opening County Championship game against Northants with three batsmen making centuries.
Stuart Law, Iain Sutcliffe and Carl Hooper all made tons and it is uncanny after last year's record of centuries.
I was chatting to Warren Hegg at the weekend and he was pleased that everyone has just slotted into type.
Stuart has picked up where he left off last season and Iain had a great knock to build on his pre-season form.
Even more stunning is that Carl has come in and made his runs off a couple of nets, but he is obviously feeling really relaxed having made the commitment to playing for Lancashire.
In the past the onus has been on him to make the runs in county sides, but now he can sit back and have a ball.
And the impetus is there and Lancashire will put the fear of God into sides because even if you get rid of the first four you are then faced with even more batsmen who can make runs.
And Mal Loye missed out so he will be wanting to show he can get runs and while everyone is doing their bit to get runs they are putting pressure on each other.
