DARWEN must win all three of their remaining games if they are to stand any chance of being involved in the North West Counties Division Two promotion favourites.
The future of the divisions top sides has yet to be confirmed.
The top four will win promotion next season, but there is a possibility that more sides could go up.
However, Darwen manager Steve Wilkes is not taking any chances and has made his mission perfectly clear to his players ahead of tonight's trip to bottom-placed Castleton Gabriels.
"If we don't win tomorrow the other two are insignificant," he said.
"We need to win three out of three."
But although they are taking on a Castleton side who have already picked up the division's wooden spoon, they aren't taking a win for granted, especially as the Rochdale-based side enjoyed a 4-1 win at Oldham Town at the weekend. Plus Wilkes will be without front men Daniel Stubberfield and Mark Westhead, although Paul Baker and Denny Khan will replace them.
Wilkes added: "I've lost two and gained three with Lee Webb, Ben Jackson and Jimmy Khan all available again, but none of them are strikers.
"But with Flixton losing on Saturday, we don't need to worry about goal difference. It's in our hands now."
