A REGULAR at a Darwen pub rugby tackled the landlord after refusing to leave, a court heard.
Luc Tristran Wrennall forced Andrew Harding to the floor and as he was being dragged away by other regulars at the Black Horse on Redearth Road, Blackburn, he punched the licensee on the jaw.
The court heard that a short time after Wrennall was arrested after breaking into his father's dental surgery and struggled violently with the officers.
Wrennall, 29, of School Street, Darwen, pleaded guilty to assaulting Mr Harding and resisting a police officer.
He was made subject to a community rehabilitation order for 12 months. Blackburn magistrates ordered him to pay £250 compensation to Mr Harding, £100 to Lancashire Constabulary for damage to a uniform and £75 costs.
Neil White, prosecuting, said Wrenall had been in the pub for two hours when his attitude began to change. He began shouting and swearing and waving his arms about and was asked to leave.
He initially made to leave but then braced himself against the doorway and refused to move. He was told 'not to be daft' and after a brief discussion said he would go.
