BLACKBURN Rovers are expected to announce details of a new kit deal later this week.
The club's contract with Italian clothing giant Kappa is coming to an end and Rovers are currently working on lining up a new manufacturer.
Club officials were today keeping tight-lipped over who has been chosen but Slazenger, Puma, Diadora and Joma, who make Charlton's kit, are all thought to be in the frame.
Kappa have been manufacturing the strip since 2000, but their four season deal is due to end this summer and the club have decided not to renew it.
Today Kappa, who have an office in Perthshire, refused to comment on the decision, but confirmed they would no longer be making Rovers' kit.
John Williams, Rovers' chief executive, said: "Our contract with Kappa comes to an end on May 30 and we will be announcing details of a new contract at some point in the future."
Club bosses are set to meet tomorrow and an announcement could be made soon afterwards.
Williams added: "Following that meeting, it is possible that we will be making an announcement."
It is believed that the details will concern the identity of the new kit manufacturer, and the way the clothes are retailed.
But even the official Rovers supporters' association have been told to remain silent until an official unveiling.
Rovers are due for a kit change this year, as the current design, now featuring sponsor HSA, has been used for two years.
According to the club's Customer Charter, a new home shirt is unveiled every two years, and a new away shirt each year.
The last time a change was made to the kit was when the sponsor changed earlier in the season from AMD. However, the design of the kit remained the same.
