THE organiser of a holiday football camp for children has slammed thieves who stole a set of goal posts.
Eddie KcKane (pictured left) organised the Bentley and Barons Soccer Fun Week along with Mark Bentley for Pendle schoolchildren in the Easter holidays.
The event could have been put in jeopardy when thieves made off with one set of Samba goals and vandalised another.
But coaches and players did not let the disappointment ruin their day and carried on with their training, using other nets.
The portable self-assembly goals costing £120 are made of plastic and measure 12 x 6ft.
They arrived at 9am to start the final day of the camp at West Craven High School, Barnoldswick, on Friday April 9 to find only one set of goalposts which had been smashed up.
Mr McKane said : "Because of the weather the pitches were waterlogged so we had used the tennis courts.
"They have a 12ft fence around them and a padlocked gate, so we left the nets up all week.
"We arrived on Friday to start and found just one goal which had been smashed up.
"Fortunately the club have a few sets of nets so we could use some more. It did not stop the children having a good time and they all received a ball and a trophy at the end."
