A THIEF who has been involved in the drugs culture since he was very young was given a helping hand to kick his habit by magistrates.
Axis Robertson, 28, of Poplar Street, Nelson, admitted theft on March 23.
He was given a 12 months community rehabilitation order, with the Addressing Substance Related Offending Programme. He must also pay £75 costs.
Richard Taylor, defending, told the Burnley bench Robertson was co-operating fully with an order he was already on.
He was on methadone and needed further encouragement to stay off drugs.
Robertson was attending the community drugs team and would hopefully stay out of trouble.
