PENDLE's Canal Corridor Project is holding a conference to encourage people to take an active role in environmental issues affecting the area.
The event held at Northern Technologies in Nelson on May 15 will offer a range of hands-on workshops to let people gain practical experience in topics they may be unfamiliar with.
It has been arranged through Pendle Council's Canal Corridor Small Projects Fund to bring people together to see some of the work done to regenerate the Leeds to Liverpool Canal through Nelson and Brierfield.
Tricia Wilson, Canal Corridor Development Worker, said: "The conference will give the opportunity to network with environmental workers and gain practical experience in fields they may not normally get involved with while having lots of fun."
Workshops will include: Restoring and creating wildlife ponds, Down to Earth with Wildflowers, Your Canal Heritage, Urban Gardens and Trails from the Riverbank.
For more information and to reserve a place telephone Tricia Wilson on 01282 661964.
