A KEEP fit scheme developed by an Olympic silver medallist is to be introduced at a Pendle leisure centre.
Pendle Wavelengths Leisure Centre will run swimZone, a swimming fitness programme for all developed by former swimmer Nick Gillingham.
The sessions start on May 4 and will run every Tuesday at the centre in Leeds Road, Nelson, between 7pm and 8pm.
Sessions cost £3.20 and start with an induction where fitness levels and swimming skill will be assessed through various programmes. Sue Slater of Pendle Leisure hoped the programme, endorsed by the national governing body the Amateur Swimming Association, would help the Government reach their target of 70 per cent of the population exercising five time a week for 30 minutes by 2020.
She said: "The SwimZone programme is a great motivational tool to help our customers reach their goals."
