POLICE are hunting a thief on a bike who stole a woman's handbag as she walked through Nelson.
The thief struck as the 29-year-old victim walked past garages in Lonsdale Street.
The woman tried to hold onto the bag and during the ensuing struggle was pushed to the ground. He then rode off with the bag, but the victim could not see which direction he went in.
A number of personal items were in the bag including a black leather purse, electric and gas cards and £200 in cash.
The raider is described as a white male in his late teens, with a tanned complexion, stocky build and wearing a white baseball cap, dark padded coat and dark trousers. He was also wearing dark gloves and was riding a grey mountain bike.
