SUPPORTERS of the British Heart Foundation in Hyndburn have raised more than £18,000 for the charity.
Foundation branch members from Accrington and surrounding towns have held a variety of events to raise cash for the good cause, including walks across Morecambe Bay and to all three piers at Blackpool. A number of bequeathed donations have also been made to the charity.
The cheque was handed over to the charity at the latest branch meeting on Tuesday night, at Burnley Road Bowling Club, Accrington. Branch chairman/secretary Mary Wood , of High Street, Oswaldtwistle, said: "Our members are all very proud to have raised such a sum. We'd like to thank everyone who has supported us."
