A 25-year-old Leigh boxer made his debut at Barrow at Furness ABC recently.
Light - middleweight amateur boxer, Rory Roberts, began the sport just twevle months ago.
The talented boxer dominated the first round, forcing back his opponent, Army Private Paul Malcolm, with a heafty ramrod blow.
During the second round, Rory continued well, giving a strong right hook. The Army boxer took the shots resiliently and as the round drew to a close, the Army Private came back to take a share.
The third round saw the Leigh boxer's turn to take the hammer of blows and despite providing an excellent performance, soon began loosing on points.
