NEW Golborne pro, Shah, took three wickets on his debut in the rain-affected draw at Blackrod.
Shah struck early with the wicket of Sanderson but Blackrod batted solidly to take the score to 69 before Smith (33) was caught off Cottrell.
Jack Southworth was dropped twice before reaching 10, and then punished the Golborne bowling with clean hitting. Along with Namajee, they put on a partnership of 103 before Southworth was well caught by Crompton off Shah for 71.
Golborne fought back well and slowed the run rate down, Speak finished on 28 not out and Blackrod ended on 240-6. Golborne's best bowler was Shah with figures of 3 for 79 off 20 overs.
Golborne's innings started well with Tyrer and Crompton taking the score to 25 before Crompton fell to a good catch from Namajee. Marston soon followed for one.
Tyrer and Shah batted sensibly to take the score to 69 before Shah fell for 17. Golborne then lost Brunt for seven, but Tyrer (33no) again batted superbly. But with bad light and rain setting in, Golborne received only 26 overs and finished on 85-4.
The second team went down by seven wickets to Blackrod after being bowed out for 125 (Makinson 80).
