A LONG-SERVING postal worker is waving goodbye after 25 years' first class service.
Myra Whiteside, who represents Leigh Central ward on Wigan Council, has taken early retirement to concentrate on her council and community work.
Cllr Whiteside, pictured, said: "I'm sad about leaving but also excited to be moving on. I love my council work and hope to get involved in more voluntary work."
For eight years she was behind the counter at Leigh Post Office then moved to Bolton and became area representative in 1997.
She is on the Public and Patient Forum for Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS trust and is an active board member at Newton West Park school.
